My natural curiosity about people and cultures led me to pursue an English Literature degree before going on to complete my PGCE with the University of London, which is where I first began to appreciate the importance of supporting disadvantaged young adults in the city where I grew up, and with whose journey I could relate to. After leaving a career in teaching, I enrolled on a year-long technical City & Guilds course to train as a photographer where I first explored visual storytelling. The course culminated in a social documentary project about Finsbury Park, and it was this piece of work that kickstarted my fascination with the meaning of community in urban areas, and it’s a fascination that has never really stopped!

To keep this interest alive, I run a documentary community photography collective called Red, Rolled and Seen in south east London, bringing members of the local community together through a shared love of photography. I’m also a qualified yoga teacher and coach with a particular interest in movement and meditation, and I bring this passion for holistic health and helping others into all of the work I do.
